I want to talk about goals of storytelling.
There are 3 goals of storytelling namely:
Get attention
Start conversations
Create an emotional bond with your brand
Get attention
As employees transiting into online entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs transiting into having a coaching practice helping people solve problems, there’s one thing we are all striving for – THE ATTENTION OF PEOPLE.
The brand with the most attention ‘’wins’’.
I don’t know about you, but I want to win. Therefore, any legal means I can use to win will be a welcome development.
Here’s where storytelling comes in. You can use stories to get the attention of people.
How? You may ask.
Well, it’s simply because stories by themselves have the magic to easily connect with the minds and hearts of people. We receive stories faster and more readily than facts and figures.
Hence, you need to start telling your stories and getting people glued to your content.
Start conversations
Storytelling helps you start conversations. ‘’social’’ media is a combination of different mediums of communication where PEOPLE can interact, share experiences, moments and be ‘social’.
Hence, since storytelling is a medium of communication, very effective if I must add, you can use it to aid the conversations you want to start for your brand.
Create an emotional bond with your brand
This is the ultimate. If you do this well, you will build an influential storytelling brand in no time.
Your stories help get their attention and start conversations.
However, for you to have that emotional bond, you have to share things that are meaningful and relevant to the present life stories of your audience.
If they feel understood, like you get them, you will win their attention, their trust, their followership and their money.
Storytelling is a marathon, not a sprint. You have to be in this for the long-haul.
Think happily-ever-after kind of relationship, not a one-night stand.
Share your stories.
Start those conversations.
Start bonding emotionally.
